SSL certificate issue with multiple Sitecore Cloud services

SSL Certificate of all Sitecore cloud services expired on 15-Sep-2017. Update of certificate has been performed before the date, however, configuration was not applied properly for multiple resources.

This caused an outage on various Sitecore services such as IP Geolocation, Device Detection, Email Cloud and Sitecore Azure Marketplace.

Customers were not able to connect the services until the certificate is renewed.

 

Updates Summary

Issue Resolved: 

Certificates have been updated for all the affected services (Email Cloud, IP Geo Location and Device Detection).

No further impact on any customers expected.

Issue identified: 

SSL Certificate of all Sitecore cloud services expired on 15-Sep-2017. Update of certificate has been performed before the date, however, configuration was not applied properly for multiple resources. This caused an outage when Sitecore solutions were communicating to those services.

Services affected by outage: IP Geolocation, Device Detection, Email Cloud and Sitecore Azure Marketplace.

Impact: Customers are not able to connect the services until the certificate is renewed.

Next steps: Cloud Ops urgently started configuration update to ensure only new certificate is used
