Sitecore Email Cloud - messages to Yahoo domain misclassification

In period between March 14-16 an issue was reported by Yahoo. All messages that were sent to yahoo.com domain and bounced with error `554 delivery error: dd This user doesn't have a yahoo.com account ...@... [0] - mta#` should be removed. Sitecore is investigating the actual impact on Email Cloud users right now. Update will follow.

 

Updates Summary

RESOLVED: Customers, who sent emails to yahoo.com domain between March 14-16 can clean the suppressions table following the steps below:
1. Take a backup of the EXM.Master SQL database or the Suppressions table
2. Run the following script against EXM.Master SQL database :
  DELETE FROM Suppressions
  WHERE 
  SuppressionStatus=0
  AND SuppressTime BETWEEN '2018-03-14 00:00:00' AND '2018-03-16 23:59:59'
  AND Email LIKE '%@yahoo%'
  AND ReasonType LIKE '%554 delivery error: dd This user doesn''t have a yahoo%account%mta#'
  
Please note, if you have been affected by this incident and choose not to clean the suppressions table, you may not be able to send emails to some valid yahoo recipients

UPDATE: All false positive suppressions have now been removed from Sparkpost. Sitecore is continuously working on determining the impact on our customers.
