Azure availability Issues in West Europe Region

During daily monitoring activities, Sitecore Cloud Operations engineers found an issue with Microsoft Azure due to which some of the Managed Cloud & xDB Cloud customers in West Europe are affected.

Affected Sitecore Cloud Service: Sitecore Managed Cloud & xDB Cloud customers.

Customer identification: Few Managed Cloud customers & xDB Cloud Customers hosted in the West Europe Azure region.

Issue Description: Through Azure we have learnt that Azure instances hosted in West Europe Region are unreachable . This is because of an underlying Storage incident and is under investigation by Azure

Impact: The issue occurred on 02:40 UTC ,  Nov 7 , 2019  a subset of customers will be facings issues connecting to resources hosted in the West Europe Region.

Updates Summary

Resolved: Azure engineers mitigated the impact to the first two scale units by deploying a platform hotfix. Mitigation to the third scale unit was delayed due to compatibility issues identified when applying the mitigation. A small subset of customers may continue to experience residual impact. Communications continue to be sent through the Service Health section of their Azure Portal. Engineers will continue to investigate to establish the full root cause, which will be published within 72 hours.
